LINKS : RELIGION
There are a number of churches in Great Dunmow, spanning a broad range of different religions, and those with a website are listed here:
| › Dunmow Baptist Chapel |
We are a small yet energetic church where the age of our congregation ranges from under 10 to over 80. The morning and evening Sunday services last around an hour and include a children’s talk. Our services follow a traditional format and are family-friendly so everyone feels a part of the worship. You are very welcome to come along to any of our meetings. |
| › Five Parishes |
The United Parish of Broxted with Chickney and Tilty and Great Easton and Little Easton - this website includes information about the five churches, as well as a monthly newsletter.
|
| › Open Door Church |
We are a group of people from in and around Great Dunmow who have found that knowing Jesus makes a difference in our lives. We chose the name Open Door to reflect the welcoming attitude which God has to everyone whatever their background or circumstances. |
| › St Mary the Virgin Church |
The earliest known reference to a church in Great Dunmow is in a Saxon will dated 1045 but we do not know where the church was located. The earliest recorded vicar was Geoffrey de Dunmow in 1197 and the first church on the present site in Churchend was probably built about 1250. |
